Safety & Security
For the safety of our patrons and artists, all attendees will have to proceed through our security checkpoint. We strongly encourage all patrons to arrive early as a line can form to enter the facility.
Small bags and personal items are permitted in our facility and will be searched through our security screening upon arrival.
What items are prohibited from entering the facility?
Prohibited items include:
- Oversized bags and backpacks
- Outside food or drink
- Drugs, smoking, or use of vaporizers or e-cigs
- Selfie sticks
- Weapons
- Face paint
- Laptops and iPads
- Musical instruments
- Audio recording devices or professional photography equipment (cameras with detachable lenses).
- Laser pens
- Posters and signs
Certain shows include additional items, these items will be posted on a sign outside of the venue entrance.
Our Commitment to Your Safety
Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) remains committed to the safety and well-being of our performing artists, patrons, educators, students, staff, and volunteers. TPAC protocols are developed from recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and local health officials. They may be modified according to current public health and government directives. By visiting TPAC, you voluntarily assume all risks of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. We encourage all TPAC guests to take precautions, as recommended by the CDC, to protect themselves in public spaces, and we ask that you respect others’ health choices. Please alert a staff member if you have any concerns and help keep each other safe.
Assumption of Risk
We appreciate your cooperation as we strive to make the guest experience as safe as possible for all. By visiting TPAC, purchasing tickets to and/or attending any event at TPAC or War Memorial Auditorium, you acknowledge and voluntarily assume all the risks of exposure to COVID-19 and other communicable diseases. You also acknowledge notice of and agree to follow all facility rules, posted instructions, and protocols. You also agree to notify all guests for whom you are purchasing tickets of the instructions and protocols disclosed here, those that may be made publicly available for the event, and those that may be conveyed prior to your party’s arrival. You acknowledge and agree that you are voluntarily assuming all risks of exposure to communicable diseases and agree to release, waive, and discharge the facility and all related and affiliated individuals and entities, and all individuals and entities involved in the event at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and/or War Memorial Auditorium (WMA) which you are attending, from all the claims directly or indirectly arising from your visit to TPAC and/or WMA.
Disruptive Patron Policy
Tennessee Performing Arts Center® (TPAC®) expects all patrons to behave in a courteous manner. Anyone engaged in behavior that is deemed disruptive, unsafe, or discourteous is subject to removal at the sole discretion of TPAC management. Examples of such behavior include, but are not limited to:
- Destruction of property
- Obstruction of pathways
- Inappropriate attire
- Loitering / solicitation
- Violation of the prohibited item policy (include link)
- Criminal activity
- Public intoxication
- Inappropriate language
- Interrupting a performance
- Unauthorized photography
- Smoking / use of a vaporize r
